Hasan Kattan is both the director and producer of the Syrian film “Clustered”, which was featured at the Syria Mobile Film Festival. The film sheds light on the devastating effects of cluster bombs and their impact on civilians, particularly children.
Through the eyes of a young boy named Hussein, Kattan depicts the daily struggles faced by those who have been impacted by these deadly weapons. Despite the sadness and harshness of the story, Kattan also captures moments of resilience and hope, demonstrating the human spirit’s ability to persevere in the face of adversity.
In an interview about the film, Kattan expressed his desire to bring attention to an issue that has not received enough attention, stating, “I wanted to make a film about an issue that has not had any light shed on it – that of the effects of cluster bombs.”
Through “Clustered,” Kattan has succeeded in raising awareness of the devastating impact of cluster bombs on civilian populations, particularly children. The film serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing suffering caused by conflict and the urgent need to address its impact on innocent lives.
